So I didn't get as good of a raise as I had thought...

I had a great year far exceeding all of my goals at the office. I had thought that meant I achieved greatness and was deserving of one of those large raises that I had hear about for the past four years. And then I got into the meeting. I was told my behavior, for reasons unknown to my supervisor, was deemed to knock me down from far exceeding expectations to exceeding expectations. Basically cutting my potential raise in half. Damn them!!! And without a reason...so I have emailed my HR person to see what is going on. Maybe the scales have gone and a 5% raise is up there. But, out of principle I'm not happy. I had a great behavior year as well with being positive, volunteering for additional projects, backing up my supervisor, getting my promotion to the next level. Anyway, the hr lady will get back to me by tomorrow. I'm just sick of some upper management schmucks who seem to always knock me down. To hell with them. I worked damn hard to improve and reach all of my goals. It wasn't even close.

Well, it IS such a bad economy.... Sorry about that.

This is about BS. Not the economy. My raise amount had nothing to do with the economy...although that would have been a great excuse. I wish they would have just told me that, lol.

Yeah, I'd want to actually hear the "behavior" reasons. Nothing to lose in asking, is there?

So I just found out I didn't even get the top raise in the "exceeds" expectations category or 6%. Man am I pissed. I work my ass off and then shoot me down like this. I have sent an email to my HR rep to get an explanation. Behavior wasn't supposed to be that huge of a factor until 2009...

And even if behavior is a big deal, I thought I did pretty well this year.

I'd want to hear the reasons too. Does your supervisor not like you or something?
